how to make posts go to their assigned categories???

Hey,

all the posts that I assign to one specific category also goes to the main page “home” as well!
I dont want all my posts to go to the main page unless I specify it…

so for example if my post is assigned to a category named “interviews” and I only want the post to go to “interviews” why does it also go to the main page named “home” even though i unchecked every categories except for the interview one before i publish it?
