In the Post editor find the "Publish" section.
Next to "Visibility" click on edit and then check the "Stick this post to the front page" option there.
Click save and you're done.
wasted about a day with all sorts of plugins and even source code hacks which do not work with the theme we are using. Thanks for posting this, Chris.
I need to say that this feature should always be visible. Beyond a shadow of the doubt there is enough space up there, no reason at all to hide it like that!!!!
