   ok i am really new to this so i am sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a domain name, ubuntu server 7.10 with lamo installed. I setup my blog just fine but i can not for the life of me figure out how to make my blog the main page. Can somebody please help me.

   I think I'm confused. Do you mean you want your WP blog to show up when someone goes to http://yourdomain.com ?

   Yes exactly, I am haveing the same problem. When I use the installer on my host it ask for a file to install the program to. I tried to make it httpdocs and leaveing it blank and so on. It installs it to a folder titled WordPress. I want to go to mydomain.info and have the index be the blog. I got the host and domain just for wordpress blog. How do I install WordPress to my index or main home page?

   Would it be best If I put up an index page with a link to the blog in the folder? for example mydomain.com would be the page with a link to mydomain.com/WordPress. I preferr not to though.

   no, what would have been better is to have installed wordpress in the root of your webspace, if thats where you wanted it to be.

   you CAN move it you know? It wont fall of your box.
