How to make index.php file as default

    i have created themes in wordpress, it was working fine before but when i created page.php its not take index.php file as default ….. please help me….

    Thats just the way wordpress works. Just copy the style and layout you used for index.php to page.php and your problem is solved ;).

    Can you explain in a bit more detail:

    1) What you did?
    2) What you expected to happen?
    3) What happened unexpectedly?

    i have created themes in wordpress…. which has 2 sidebar in right and left and in middle the content display. left sidebar will be only in homepage when we click on any other page (link) there will have only 1 sidebar and tat will b in right side….

    i hav created index.php file its working fine but when i click on any other link i should get only 1 sidebar on right side. for tat purpose i created page.php file but now coz of page.php my index.php is not default.

    i want my homepage should use index.php n other pages (link) use page.php….

    plzzzz help me…..
