• Doing my first wordpress post. Frustrated that I can’t search the forums– at least cant find search, as I am sure this has been covered 10K times. But how do I make images bigger, do I need a plugin?

The standard has it as a small thumbnail even when I choose “actual image size”.

Thanks for any help in advance!!

  • How are you inserting images? What theme?

The basic media sizes are controlled in settings->media

You can control the sizes of thumbnail, etc

But depending on your theme, it may be controlling image sizes. Are you inserting into post, or using featured image?

Twenty Ten 1.2 is our theme, and it is skinned out with a design our developer did so it matches website.

We are inserting images into post. Will have to check out featured image.

So what is the purpose of thumbnails on blog post? If it’s something you think someone is going to click anyway, I guess I can understand, but who wants to click when on something that should just appear big anyway?
I did go in and save settings. Am now uploading from computer and inserting it right then instead of using the gallery. I see the other controls now. This is better.

Thank you for all guiding info!
