   How do i make my blog the first page i come too when a person types in my website url?

   basically, i have nothing on my website right now, but when i install wordpress that will be my website, so when person A types in http://www.mysitehere.com the page they come too is my blog.

   thanks for anyones help!

   Install WordPress in the root folder of your site and you are done.

   i would simply be using fantastico to install it.

   I never used fantastico. I don't know if it installs WP in the root.
   Well, the "root" is the website's main directory, usually it is called 'public_html' or 'www' or 'htdocs' or something like that.
   Anything installed there - would be displayed when visitors go to your domain/website.

   I am in the same boat I have WP in my root dir, there is an index.html and an index.php so when I type in my site http://acrobat.timhuff.net
   I get the index.html, how do you get it to see index.php???

   Delete the index.html - you cannot have two indexes in a directory!
