• This might’ve been covered before, but I couldn’t find anything relevant…

I’ve got a WP up and running. I want to install/add a simple picture gallery to a whole new page (home – contact – about me – pictures).

Like, when someone goes to my “pictures”-page, they should be able to see all my galleries (i.e “festival 2010”, “festival 2011”) and it should list how many pictures there are in those galleries.

Also, is it possible to add a comment field for each picture like it is on facebook?

Any tutorial videos or plugin-suggestions are most welcome! Thanks.

  • You can use wordpress’ built in gallery system by using the media uploader, however I would recommend trying out the nextgen gallery plugin to see how you like it. It’s probably a bit more user-friendly initially although it’s documentation is nearly non-existent if you ever want to tinker with it in-depth.

I see. Yeah, there are some youtube videos that I can follow if I use that plugin, so i guess that’s an option for me then.

But can people leave comments or something on my pictures with that plugin, or…? That’d be a nice thing.

If you want a comment field for each picture you should use the native WP Gallery, where thumbnails can be configured to link to an attachment page with comments enabled.

You could create a page for each festival or other album, then create a parent galleries page which will list all the child gallery pages.
