I would like to make a separate page for each one of my categories on wordpress. For example, I have a Sony category, and I would like to get rid of the categories sidebar, and make the posts show up on their own pages. I very new to wordpress, so I don't understand all the stuff that is going on. Any help is appreciated.

With the default theme, this is easily done using a custom menu.
