   Hello

   I have no idea what I'm doing - I've managed to install wordpress and have been checking out the wordpress lessons but can't work out how to

   login to the dashboard.

   Try http://www.domain.com/wp-login.php (if you installed WP on the root directory)

   or

   Try http://www.domain.com/blogfolder/wp-login.php (if you installed WP on the blogfolder)

   Thank you for your help!

   I tried all of those suggestions and each time it comes up with

   HTTP 404 not found

   perhaps I have installed WP wrong? I installed through the install panel of my provider.

   when I go to my domain, instead of showing the home page it shows

   Index of /
   cgi-bin/
   wordpress/

   Any ideas?

   If you want your root to be site.com you should extract the WP archive (the downloaded .zip file containing WP) out of it's folder (wordpress.zip/wordpress/all the files), archive it (wordpress.zip/all the files),upload it to server and then extract it and run the install.

   Otherwise, just use yoursite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php

   oh ok thank you gholemu, I'll try that.

   Still can't find the login page!! Keep getting 404 error.
   Think I might have installed wp in the wrong spot.
