   Hi,

   I was hoping that there is a method to "lock" or hide certain posts from users who will be using WP as a CMS. There are items such as the Copyright and the Legal notices that I would like to lock down so that someone cannot change these posts by accident.

   Try it with a plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members/
   You can grant or deny access to user Roles on the edit Post screen.
