How to link to a social network after registration?

Hey there,
I’m wondering if it’s possible in any way to link a WP username to a social network after registration. Many members of our staff didn’t use a social network at first but now they’d like to use the same avatar as their favorite social network, yet I’ve looked and couldn’t find any option to do so, even if it would seem to be fairly straightforward.
Any clues? Thanks
