   I know there have been many variations of this question in the past so please bear with me. I have set up a page that has recent posts of a single category. This is a new page altogether and is not part of the index.

   I am wanting to show like the first 200 words of each post. Now it can't really be part of the excerpt because I have something written in the excerpt part for each post that is being displayed on the main page. I just want it to show the content but cut it off at like 200 words or so.

   Any help on this subject would be sooooo greatly appreciated.

   Also I forgot to mention this earlier, I'm running wordpress 2.1. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

   I appreciate the feedback, but my problem is that all my posts have like a 4-5 word excerpt that is being displayed on the main page. Now on a separate page I would like to have the those same posts just display the first 200 or so words, along with still having the excerpt show up on the main page.
