   A similar forum post re this topic is here, but it leads to what looks like a dead plugin.

   I need a way to limit specific Authors to post only to a specific category.

   Pointing me in the right direction will be well appreciated. Many thanks.

   thanks so much Kafkaesqui!

   For those looking for the same solution as I was, I managed to use it alongside the plugin 'Role Manager'.

   Basically Role Manager makes a new Role and then Limitcats limits the categories that role can make. Role Manager can set a whole lotta different settings for roles, btw, all except limiting the categories, so Limitcats fills the gap.

   This is exactly what I'm looking for. Is there a version of limitcats (or comparable plugin) for WP 2.5?

   i was using this and it does seem to not work on 2.6 yes?

   is there another solution anyone please?

   I'm interested in this as well, I hope there's something out there that works! All I need is a plugin to restrict category posting access to users. The new "Role Scoping" plugin is nice but too extensive for what I need. Anything that just modifies permissions for categories (posting, not viewing) would be perfect for me...

    Any updates for Version 2.7? I get an error about 'nesting tables'. Very sad...
