How to let my client see the site before anyone else! (3 posts)

I'm totally new to WordPress so please excuse me if I'm asking the obvious (wasn't sure where to look for previously-asked question). I'm running WP on my computer with Bitnami and have just started to set up a site for a client. The client will obviously want to see it and be able to edit the site before it goes public. How do we do this? Once I've uploaded the site to the webhost's server, does that mean that the whole world can see it? Or can I keep it 'private' and just let the client have access until we're ready to go public?! Apologies if this is a stupid question! Thanks.

The whole world can see it.

If you want to keep it private, you'll need a plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/private-wordpress/
