    Can someone please help me get WP to run on my laptop. I just want to be able to work of line. I downloaded the most recent version of WP. I downloaded Microsoft Webplatform installer ( like advised) and I downloaded MySQL. I don’t know what to do withthis stuff. I just want to be able to open up WD and see my Dashboard! I’ve got $50 for anyone you can this pathetic newbie get this running. That’s right! Fifty big ones, just in time for the holidays, for any kind soul who can talk me throug this! Please note, I don’t know a proxy from a cron job. Please, have mercy on me and make fifty bucks at the same time!

    2. Did you Read The Friendly Instructions? Was there something specific which you had problems with?
    3. There is also WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) (described further down on the same page). Personally, this is the route I would recommend because it is closest to what you will find in most hosting environments, which is called LAMP, where the L stands for Linux. WAMP will install everything and give you a completely ready-to-go environment, just add WordPress

    In addition to what @hedronist mentioned, Microsoft Web Platform installer (WPI) does work as well.

    In fact, the WPI has an automated wordpress installation function…

    In the installer, go to: “Web Applications” => “Blogs” => “WordPress”.

    You can proceed from there.. the installer will take care of the configuration and setting up of database as well.. you just need to provide some details…

    With 1000% i would advise WAMP.

    It is very simple software and the installation of wordpress on wamp is very simple as well. I use it myself.
