Hi. I need to install a gallery with a slider that will appear below the main image, or where it will be displayed. There will be multiple gallery themes, hopefully placed on multiple pages. I'm a newbie. But, I can kinda get around code. I, with the help of a tutorial, created an event list using the loop, custom fields, and function.php. The functions file is in the child folder. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hi vpolite,
If you don't wish to use the WP Gallery function, you can try the NextGEN Gallery plugin. It's one of the most popular gallery managers for WP out there.

Thanks Marventus. I didn't know the name when I was searching for it. Can I use Custom Fields with it? This gallery is for someone who is technology phobic. Do I need to do something in the functions file? I'll search online. I just need to know where to look. Thanks again.
I'm not entirely sure if the plugin supports custom fields. However, considering the way the plugin works, you might not even need custom fields.
Basically, the plugin allows you to create different galleries and call them through shortcodes, so you can have multiple galleries loading on different parts of your site at the same time. The plugin's interface is really simple to use, and you can single- or bulk- remove, add, and modify images on the fly.
The plugin doesn't require any function customization out-of-the-box (AFAIK).
Good luck!
