    Hi all.

Since the question sounds very common, I guess it was already asked... But I didn't find it.

WP is very new to the French guy I am.
Well, I just installed WP 2.0.2 and I am looking for how to :
    - Insert PHP resized (with GD2 library) thumbnails inside posts. Theses thumbnails would link to full size images.
    - Insert PHP resized posts images on index and category pages.
What I call "PHP resized images" are light images dynamicly resized (Vs HTML attributes resizing, which loads the full size image).

It seems the WP core has none of these features ?
    Do any plugins have ?

    Thank you for your help

Currently WP has a nifty little image uploader that will help you make thumbs of your images for posts. Have you tried that? You can then make the thumbs clickable to a larger image.
Once you get that figured out, this will help to automate the process a little better.

    Thank you a lot Silencematters.

I've tried it and it looks interesting.

However, thumbnails are resized via HTML attributes. Then, index and category pages may become very "heavy", loaded with plenty of "big images".

    Any other solution ?

    nza2k,
You know, I was trying to get a handle on that myself.. I wasnt sure if they were being re-sized just by using the html, or if WordPress was actually creating a thumbnail that was smaller in size.
Your topic was right in along the lines of what I am looking to do,.. so it was nice to help and maybe get more momentum on this topic.

Actually WP does resize the image. It creates a 96 x 96 px thumb.

Indeed, it creates it. But it doesn't create an HTML page that displays the full size image (inside a template we could choose) which is linked by the thumbnail.

That is what I would like to do but I wonder if I won't go simplier...
