This is a really basic newbie question as I'm just learning at the moment. I want to place an affiliate ad onto a page that I choose within my website (www.prematurebaby2teenager.com). No matter what I do it just seems to insert it onto 4 of my pages that I don't want it inserted onto leaving out the 1 page (home page)that I want it on! I deleted the ad and started again and have managed to get it onto the 2nd page but still not where I want it. Hope you can help!

Are you adding the code to the page.php template file or into the page content area?

Posted 12 months ago #Hi esmi - oh dear - whats the page.php template? I copied the ready made code from the merchants site and then used a text widget which had been dragged into one of the boxes to the right of the screen and then inserted the code in there. Sorry, really new to this!

Posted 12 months ago #Found page.php - no definitely not going anywhere near this as don't know enough about HTML. Forgot to mention I'm using the Twenty-Ten theme - don't know if that makes a difference?

If you're adding the code to a text widget in Twenty Ten, then it will be displayed on all pages. You would need to create a child theme that contained a custom page template and a custom sidebar.
