How to increase space between (and customize) footer widgets/images?

I am using the Twenty Twelve theme and only editing a child theme of it. If you look at my site here: http://mightyminx.com/

And scroll to the bottom, I am trying to make that footer widget stretch from one side of the white (body) background to the other as well as even out the spacing between each image and make it so the text below each image doesn’t stretch into each other, like on this website: http://www.everydayelsie.com/
