How to incorporate into independent non WordPress site as a blog and CMS (1 post)

    Hi

I have recently built a website however the only aspects that I wanted to improve were a) the blog and b) the CMS system. I read that WordPress could potentially be the answer to these problems and went about downloading it, uploading to a sub domain (www.blog.helpingbrand.co.uk) and setting up a database in my hosting package. However now being a complete novice with WordPress I have come a bit unstuck with regards how to integrate it into my existing website in the most effective way.

With regards the blog it is currently sitting within my sub-domain and also as a web object frame within my blog page on the main website. The problem is that I am hoping in the future to use the blog as a tool to drive traffic from social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkIn to our. If I include social media plug ins within WordPress itself and the link is followed back it will of course take visitors to the sub domain blog, i.e. WordPress (even if it is embedded as a web object within the main site) which bears no resemblance to or has no real integration with my main site; where I want people to ultimately end up. Conversely if I insert WordPress as a web object and then place the plug ins below the frame the links will always follow back to the main site page and the WordPress blog homepage will always be brought up within the frame regardless of which posting they were looking for, i.e. there will be no means of differentiating between postings based on a unique web address.

The second thing I wanted to ask for help with was the CMS system, I have seen a tutorial on how to use WordPress in this way by integrating it into an independent site using php, however all I really gleaned was that it was possible.

I apologise if this all seems a bit unclear however I would really appreciate any feedback or expertise anybody may have when integrating WordPress and a separate website .

    Thank you in advance.
