I'd like to set up a static page, but use tables to layout the page, within each cell I'd like to automatically pull in the most recent Post, and then display the next for or 5 . What would be the easiest way to do this? Thanks in advance for your help. I must say so far I'm very disappointed in these forums as no one bothers to answer any questions. I'm hoping this time I may get a response.

Not sure that you'll like the answer...
A table would be a pretty lousy way of displaying posts. Tables are meant for tabular data (ie the kind of stuff you might otherwise create in a spreadsheet) - not general page content.
