    1) In the original blog, go to Manage -> Export.
    2) Click "Download Export File"

    3) Log into the new blog. Go to Manage -> Import.
    4) Click the "WordPress" link.
    5) Browse to the file you saved at step 2.
    6) Click "Upload File and Import"

    Do a database dump:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database

then restore that database to your new blog:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

And can you FTP to the server? By the looks of the wp-admin page, you've got some problems with the files. Try uploading all the files again to see if that fixes the login trouble.

    I did everything:

    Do a database dump:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database

then restore that database to your new blog:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

    After that, it said:

Import has been successfully finished, 5856 queries executed.

But I saw no posts in the new blog?

    Hi all

I have my blog up and running but would like to set it up with a different template. I figured the best way is to setup my new blog on a test domain and then import current posts into the new blog. Once finally setup the way I want it I could back the new blog up and then upload it into my original space overwriting my old blog.

Does this sound like the best way ?

I dont want my current blog to be down while I setup the new one.

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Thanks
