Clean Retina
[resolved] how to hide site title? (it's already in my header image) (6 posts)

    Hi! Thank you for a beautiful theme!

    How do I hide the site title on my main page?

    I tried adding
    #header h1 { display:none }
    to the end of the CSS page per this (old!) advice:

    It didn't work. My blog header image already has my site name in it, so I'd rather it not be duplicated up top.

    Any suggestions?

    From what I've read, I shouldn't simply "delete" the blog title b/c this will hinder SEO.

    Where did you make that modification? In the theme's files?

    Yes. Under the Admin page, I went to "edit themes > Clean Retina Stylesheet, entered the modification at the very bottom of the page, then clicked "Update File."

    I also tried entering the modification in the "header" section of the theme's css with no success.

    Try adding CSS modifications through a Custom CSS Manager plugin instead.

    Never mind: answered my own question.

    When I added this line to my css:

    #site-title { text-indent:-9999px; }

    per the last comment on the this post, the blog title disappeared from view. YAY!
