How to have "sticky" pages on sidebar and top navigation (4 posts)

I have a client that has created pages that are listed in the top nav. They would like to have some pages listed on the top nav (header) and some in the sidebar (left). I am not sure how to do this since some pages will go in one location and others in another. I was thinking I could create the pages and then hard code the URL in the sidebar but then I would have them in both locations unless I could hide it in one and not the other. But then I thought, could a variant of wp_pages_list or something like that work? but not sure how to tell it which page goes in which location...
The site is still in development and not in its permanent location (at the root). Test location

They would like to have some pages listed on the top nav (header) and some in the sidebar (left).

You can use WordPress 3.0 custom menus to achieve that.

You're right! I was in there yesterday and started setting one up. I'll have to read up on it but I think you got me on the right track.
    Thanks again, I appreciate it!

After playing with it I found that making them private works as they were removed from the top nav and still visible on the sidebar but the problem is clicking on them does nothing (I assume because of being private).
So how do I get them to disappear on the top and appear on the sidebar and be functional?
    Thanks for your help!
