i have 2 pages in my website in the main menu ( where i want to add post from categories) there are same number of categories as well which has sub categories which contain blogs. now i want to add 1 category to 1 page and the 2nd category to the other page.
in the front page display section ( which is in settings > reading) i have set it to 'a static page' instead of 'latest post'. now what is happening is despite of setting custom field ( query_args cat=5) and doing the same on the other page with the desired cat tag still all the posts are being displayed under the same page and the other page shows empty..
in the reading section which ever post page i select all the post get stored under that page but if i want specific post under a specific page and a few under another page what do i need to do?
    please help

The Blog In Blog plugin might do what you want.

Set 'front page displays' to 'latest posts' and use Blog In Blog to exclude the second category. Then create a second page and use Blog In Blog to assign the second category to that page.
