How can I call up the latest comments posted on the main page? I am looking to have a small box that says latested comments. How do I pull this up?

Check out the Codex for some great comment plugins, some of which you may have to edit your sidebar.php. And if you have a widgets-enabled theme, it's even easier - just upload the widget and activate it through your plugins menu.

I took a look and couldn't find a single add-on that would allow me to show the text of the last comment posted on the home page. I saw a few that would link but none so far for the text itself.

13th link from the top on the codex page referenced above includes this:

    Plugin Name: Recent Comments
    Plugin URI: http://mtdewvirus.com/code/wordpress-plugins/
Description: Retrieves a list of the most recent comments.
    Version: 1.16
    Author: Nick Momrik
    Author URI: http://mtdewvirus.com/

Yes I saw that one and tried it out. Unfortunatley it does just what is says, gives a list, not the actual text.

    Get Recent Comments:

    Configureable to what you want.

samboll, that looks like an easier solution for this person. If ya cant be bothered to read the readme, then youre better off with a gui of some kind.
