i am naive so please bear with me.
my question is
is that possible in WP that if i install on my domain like mydomain.com and then other people can create thier own blogs using my website and hosting like user1.mydomain.com?
let me know if this is possible and if so is that free ? and how to setup such site.

I just want to be sure I don't screw up my existing site. I had a running wp site since last year. At the first of the year I upgraded to 3.1 (latest) but did not choose to create a network. I then installed buddypress and bbpress. The site now has twenty five members and I suddenly realized (busy trying to suss out my new theme and all the press overlays) that it's either or - buddypress activity or posts. I need to install the network and I've read about the changes to wp-config and .htaccess. I also saw a note somewhere that said if you waited more than thirty days it wouldn't work.
Then I noticed the mention was regarding single user, not the latest 3.? which I am running.
So, am I ok to proceed with create a network? If not, I'm going to be really bummed. :-)
dianeinatlanta - Generally you should make a new topic for yourself, rather than jump on someone elses.
You can still create a network. Make your own topic if you need help :)
