How to have a sidebar or column for one category?

    Hello,

    Is there a way to have a column or even a whole widget in the sidebar which shows snippets of posts from one specific category? For example, if I had a poll category and had around 7 posts, I’m looking for a column which will have the title and a paragraph of the content inside.

    Does this only work for specific themes?

    I am using this theme http://www.fakeblog.de/ which seems to do the trick on their preview. But on my site, only one category shows up? ( http://www.DeadandWalking.com/ )

    Can someone help me out? I’d be happy with just 3 categorys at the top, just can’t get it to work at the moment.
