How to get smaller size excerpt?

    Hi all,

    I want to be able to get an excerpt that’s smaller than the one entered.

    For example, I enter an excerpt for my front page, but on the side, I am doing latest article in cat X and need it to be only say 20 words or 100 chars or whatever.

    Anyway to do this?
