    Hey there,

    I once created a WP-Blog for a friend and chose a custom avatar for him. But since I had to fill in my data (Name and e-mail adress) to install this WP-Blog I now get this avatar myself any time I write a comment (see the picture on the top left of this entry for example…)

    How can I get rid of it (without having to delete this image from my computer)?

    Did you create in on gravatar, wavatar, or a similar site? If so you will have to change it on that site. I know in the WP forums my Gravatar shows up.

    Log in to admin panel. Settings > Discussion > Avatars. Avatar Display: tick Don’t show Avatars

    Or go to gravatar.com.

    The image is definitely coming from gravatar.com. If you right click it and choose to see the image properties you can see where it’s coming from.

    You can also use the User Photo plugin to replace the avatar with an image that is uploaded to the user’s profile.

    @zeo:

    Thanks for the advice. But unfortuneatly none of the settings in this section change the fact, that you can (again) see this “saddey” (cause it’s not a “smiley”) on the left side of my user name here…

    @ss_minnow:

    You’re right. The source says gravatar. Strange enough, ’cause I never created an account there.
    Either it was this friend of mine I once made the blog for, that I mentioned above in the first entry, or… Well, it’s got to be just like that.

    I’ll ask my friend and if this is the solution then I will select this topic as resolved.

    Thanks for your help, guys!

    That image correspond to your email address. If u don’t want that sad smiley anywhere just change your preference. Example here in forum go to edit and change your email to something else.

    Other than that just go to gravatar.com and change it.

    Thanks, Zeo. I couldn’t change the gravatar yet, but I’ve set another e-mail adress.

    I’ll select this threat as resolved now.
