How to get multisite to work with 2 domain names, 1 host (4 posts)

I am very new at this... and in regards to coding - I have NO IDEA!

I have one hosting account with Bluehost with a domain name, and an additional domain name that is an addon to my first domain - but these two domains are completely different businesses.

I set up a WP site with my first domain and it all worked fabulously. Then I decided I would try and set up my second website... this is where I have got very stuck.

My second domain is set up as an addon domain through bluehost. Pretty much I just followed the prompts and it is 'aliased' with my main domain name (domain that the hosting is set up as). It's an addon, but then its also linked as a subdomain..?

I followed directions to set up WP as a multisite, changed the files as directed when setting up WP multisite and then it said I could add a new site.

Now when I try and add a site, what do I enter? I managed to get mellymoo-com-au.outdoorbeanbags.com.au to work, as when this is entered into the browser the bluehost page comes up (as a domain that doesn't have a website yet), but when I add /wp-admin after it, it comes up with a 500 error.

I don't think the 'link' above is what I want.... I want one site to be http://www.outdoorbeanbags.com.au and the other site to be http://www.mellymoo.com.au. But I have no idea how, where I have gone wrong, or where to go from here.

I've been searching a lot of the forum topics and such, but it has gone right over my head!! Please help me...

    Thanks in Advance.

Or is there anyway that I can just run 2 separate versions of wordpress and not have to worry about this multisite stuff?

Ignore the 'aliased with' subdomain. It is just a way that cPanel ties your domains to a single account.

Your domains will be two very separate domains and websites online. If you're worried about people finding your content through the subdomain, see: https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/134

other than that, just install WordPress separately on your Addon Domain and they will function properly and separately.

You need a plugin to map domains on MultiSite. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

But the addon domain works too :)
