How to get full page posts without sidebar space?

I love the Zippy theme but is there anyway to have a full width post inside the pages without a sidebar area? I can remove the sidebar widgets but it just leaves a big white space… This is the only thing I am struggling with and means I can’t display my posts/images as I would like to.
