Hi...it totally depends if the original sized image is in the feed...is it?

It looks like Facebook feeds use an image that ends in _s.jpg (s means small). The normal sized image is the same URL but ends in "_n.jpg"

Where could I put a line of code to check if an image URL that will be imported ends in _s.jpg and replaces it to _n.jpg?

This would get it working great!

(Using import to posts and adding image to media library options)

if you give me a url of the feed where this is happening I could probably do a quick fix

ok..this will only work if fb doesn't ever change the content delivery system for these images as there is no way to identify it then..I'll put something quick together and post a download here.

I overwrote excerpt_functions.php in the plugin/inc directory, but it was the same result after deleting all posts (via manage posts) and reimporting them.

Picture still showed up as the 130px _s.jpg version

To confirm the images are correct here are two links

here is your feed on my site with the code change I gave you

    http://www.wprssimporter.com/mypage/

What I see, using firebug, is that the _n image is being used. Is that what you see?

My site still imports them from the _s.jpg

would the code be different because I am importing the images into my media library as featured images? maybe i can move that snippet to another place.

I could give you a preview user/pass for my site (it is still in production) if you let me know a way to get you that privately (email, facebook, etc).

yes, this is possible...let me take a look at the code and see if the featured image import is different.

    Hi Allen! Thanks for support!
I want to do the same thing for my website , but in admin panel it say me that "import-post" is INACTIVE.
the only file active is "wp-rss-multi-importer/wp-rss-multi-importer.php".
where is the problem? How can I fix it?
    Thanks!

I resolved the error activating all php permissions...
    I got only one problem...
The script change the _s in _n only in some of the images (not in all)
I tried to change server but the error persist...
Maybe is some problem in script's code?

    Hello Allen,

When I wish to import the feeds from BBC News, the link given below -

    http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/northern_ireland/rss.xml

Feed images associated with the feeds are quite smaller in size. Is there anyway to get the original article/post images from BBC which is absolutely normal.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Thanks

Hello, I just searched for this and it works perfect Thanks Allen. Also one thing to add how would i achieve the same to happen on images in .gif or .png format. Possibly you could

for now i changed this line to

    $fb_feature_img = str_replace('_s.png', '_n.png', $featuredImage);

but would like to add .jpg and .gif to it too if possible.
