How to find plugins... (4 posts)

Ok, I'm brand new and I'm going through the help pages and I'm going through the administrative panel. In the help files it says that plugins are very helpful blah, blah, blah. And it says I should find a link "plugins" on my administrative dashboard right between "presentation" and "users"... except... I don't have a link for plugins. How do I get there?

I've just signed up for free blog on WordPress. I know I sound like a big noob, but could one of you help me out and point me in the right direction?

Well, blogs hosted at wordpress.COM (aka free sign up) don't have a the plugins feature.
Also, remember: we are the wordpress.ORG people - so, next time ask your questions at http://wordpress.com/forums

...and we can't have plugins installed on wp.com since that would be a security risk for all of the other users. You can suggest them via feedback on your dashboard though over at wp.com.

For those with self hosted WP installs, you can find plugins @ http://wp-plugins.net/ among other places.
