    Hi!
I'm having several WordPress installations running on a server and need to know which version they are. I'm the admin of the server and want to alert the WP admins when their version is updated, so that they can/must/will upgrade.

Is there a version.txt or some file, database entry that I can question/read out via console on the server?

    Thanks in advance!

Unless obscured, the version can be seen by viewing:

-The source code of your site, i.e. meta name="generator content="WordPress 2.x.x

-Under "Right Now", the bright orange strip on the Dashboard (of 2.5)
that says, "This is WordPress version 2.5.1."

-And at the bottom of every page in the admin area. It seems to me that all versions of WordPress that I have used has displayed the info in one form or another on the Dashboard after you log in.

    Thanks Clayton!
But I can only use the first one, because I don't have access to the admin-interface. But it will help, since I know the URls on which they're running :)
These are not my wordpresses though, I'm only the admin of the server and want to let the users know, that they have to update to the newest version.

Thanks again for helping me out!
