• Greetings! A WP newbie here.

I understand the difference between “post” and “page” and how we can set the “Reading” properties to make a WP site have static “pages”. I’m just having a terrible time, perhaps not searching with the right query, to find non-blogging/static themes.

Can I get advice on the keywords I should be using and/or resources that list themes good for creating static/non-blogging websites?

FWIW, I’m trying to setup a website for a consulting business I want to start. Thank you.

    Tak

  • hi tak, not sure what theme to point you to sorry but how about you try under the reading section again select static page option then select your front page to your home page and leave posts page option to the default -Select- option .. then just add pages and no posts .. hope this works for you …

Thank you blog596. I tried different queries and yesterday, by chance I searched again using Google and stumbled upon ‘Academica’ from WPZOOM. It had a free license along with other levels of licensing so I downloaded the free one & it seemed to work well. Thank you for the tips & link – learning those page options (no comment, front page static, etc) … loving learning WP. Tak
