   Hello,
   I have a static front page and another page selected as my "posts page." I would like my Categories to only appear in the sidebar when my "posts page" is selected. Does anyone know how I could accomplish this or if there is a plugin that does this?

   You have to alter your functions.php file

   Thanks for the links. They are very informative resources. Are there any plugins available to make this happen? Also, The freshy 2 theme has a widget called "Categories or Pages" that would work for me and is set up in the functions.php file in the template, but I'm not sure how to port that to another theme template.
