how to enter tags correctly using WP to Twitter Options (6 posts)

I feel so dumb... can someone tell me the trick to getting Twitter to recognize my hashtags. My entry is:

    #blog# New: #title# #post# (#url#) #genealogy #ahnenforschung

When I go to my Twitter account everything 'looks' okay however when I query any of my hashtags like #genealogy my posts do not appear. Probably as a Twitter noob I'm missing something simple.

    Thanks for any help.

Are those tags actually visible in your Twitter status update? At a guess, your status update is so long that it's getting truncated before posting. Even in it's raw form, here, you've got 78 characters; adding in 16 for a URL we're up to 96, which only leaves you a total of 44 characters to spare for your blog title, post title, and post excerpt combined. I'd say that you're almost guaranteed to run into problems due to length.

    Hi Joe

Thank you for the plugin and the contact!

Here's my tale of woe... I can see my tags (ie. #genealogy) from my Twitter account - they appear cleanly in my 'tweet' (I have even moved them to the front of my 'tweet' string and they show up there.). However, when I click on a hashtag my stuff never appears. This same situation also applies to hashtags that are autogenerated from my WP post tags. It seems strange.

I see - the tags are there, but you don't show up in Twitter searches for them. Well, that's beyond me...it seems like that's more a Twitter search issue than a WP to Twitter posting issue...perhaps you need to make a request to Twitter support.

    Hi Joe

It seems to have been a twitter overload issue. Your plugin is still 'prefect'. Thanks for the help!
