    Hi all i have my blog running ok its the old version as i can see ppl with problems installing 1.5 i guess i'll leave it for now. The problem i have is this lamer spam bot keeps posting messages on my blog with gambling ads here's a sample below;

    "texas hold\’em ( / http://www.tigerCRAPspice.com ) (IP: 131.109.28.253 )"

    How can i ban this i.p or account from my blog ? I have already made it so you have to register but i dont see the persons account on the admin users section.

    thanks podz i think i'll use this code below, would i need to insert it within the index.php file ?

    <?php
    $block = array("xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", "yy.yy.y.yyy");

    if (in_array ($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'], $block)) {
    header("Location: http://google.com/");
    exit();
    }
    ?>

    i also noticed the within the options\discussion section at the bottom there is a "Comment Moderation" section here you can enter spam terms or the chosen ones listed.

    Hopefully this will limit those spammers !

    Download Elliott Black's WP Hashcash: http://elliottback.com/wp/archives/2004/11/29/spam-stopgap-extreme/ it works like a charm, you could also use the SpamKarma plugin

    Under "Options/Discussions," I'm using the new "Comment Blacklist" for tigerspice and a couple of porn sites. I love it - spam from those sites were instantly nuked, and I never see it anymore.
