How to... disply a WP rss feed on my homepage (5 posts)

I have WP installed in a subfolder of my site (/blog) and would like to display the 5-10 most recent posts on the root homepage, which I'd imagine would mean using the WP RSS feed. So is there a way of implementing this easily?

I am running a somewhat overly complex (IMHO) solution at the moment which is called Rss2Html (I think) but seems rather complicated (involved uploading 2 large custom scripts and an html file and can't even get it to display 'featured images') - I was thinking may be there is an easier solution? Any ideas...? Does it have to be through third party scripts?

    Thanks :)

    Thanks Krishna,
but the homepage is not within the WP environment so not sure if this would work.. plus I'd ideally like them on centered on the main content of the homepage, not a sidebar...

    Regards

Are you using feedburner? If so, you can use codes from their site to show excerpts anywhere you like, in any environment.
