HI I'm new to all this however I want my parent page to show a list of excerpts from my child pages a bit like a blog page.
I can get it to do it in the menu but when I click on the parent page it just shows the blurb of the parent page. Is there any plugin or such to assist with this?thanks deeta

very likely, you'll need to edit page.php of your theme to implement your idea;
check:

with the 'parent' parameter -
