How to disable widget/spam?

    After installing this plugin I get a widget about wpbegginer.
    I only installed it because it claimed to be a “simple” plugin.
    No mentioning of the “extra” you get either you like it or not.

    Is there a way to disable it by commenting something out in the code?

    Fair enough if it is not, I’ll just uninstall it but I would appreciate an answer.

    Dashboard > Screen Options > untick WPBeginner, and you won’t see the latest WordPress news from us.

    To call it spam is a bit unfair – it’s a free plugin, supported for free, with relevant news that includes details about our plugin updates.
