How to delete sidebar?

    I have 2 sidebars on my website http://www.thetechn.com/
    I want to delete the thinner one on the left (with amazon links) it takes unnecessary space and is making my website slower because there is more to load. How can I get rid of this sidebar so that I can extend the area to fit more text in without it being squashed up in the left?
