How to delete a template?

I have been trying to solve a problem with a custom page template for quit some time. I think I know what the problem is, but I don’t know how to solve it.
In the them editor two copies of “home_page Page Tenplate show up in my child theme. The first copy has the filename “home_page.php. This is the correct template and the one that is uploaded to my child theme folder. The second copy has the filename “images/home_page.php. I have no idea where this file is saved, but I need to eliminate it because it is causing the problem. It is not in the twentyten folder or the twentyten child folder.
Can anyone tell me how to trash it? Thanks.
