I used Dreamweaver to scour my folder for instances of 'home' and was unable to find where I could define 'home' as being...

I want to list a specific category as my front page rather than seeing all posts from all categories.

Sounds simple but I can't figure it out.

It is simple - and fortunately, no dreamweaver necessary.

There are some plugins that you can use to control what categories are shown on your main page. Here are two, I'm sure there are others:

    Category Visibility plugin.
    Ultimate Category Excluder plugin.

FYI to others: Ultimate Category Excluder is compatible with WordPress 2.1 whereas Category Visibility is not.

Also if you exclude "green" category but not "red" category, a post that is tagged both "green" AND "red" will be excluded. :-(
