How to customize the Post Editing screen?

    been researching alot on how to customize the Post Editing screen.

    all I have right now is: use the metadata to add a customize field.

    but this meta data cannot be positioned between “title” and “rich edit”.

    My imaginary options are:

    1. completely rewrite the “post editing” screen, to position whatever I like?

    2. hack some core file?

    what is your opinion or experience?
