   Greetings,
   I just got up and running at:

   http://www.johnalderete.com

   and I want to create a set of static pages that are not linked to buttons on the 'header bar'. So, I created Contact in the Pages dashboard, and that is linked to my site with the Contact button on the header bar. But I want to create other pages that I only link to from links in the text of a page or blog post.

   Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere--I searched for 15 minutes and couldn't find what I wanted.

   you will have to edit your theme's header.php or navigation.php (or wherever the header bar menu is located ).

   this function should help:

   http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_pages

   check the option "exclude"
