How to Create Category Page

    I have create a theme by editing an exiting theme. Now I have a problem. My Index.php and Category template is same. Mean that setting I apply on main same applied on category page.
    Now How I can create a category page can you help me.? my website is this http://smspaki.com here you can select any category from left or right sidebar.

    Hey. WordPress defaults to index.php when it cannot find a more specific template file for a page. To create different templates for your individual page categories, you will need to create new template files such as category.php, page.php etc. For information on creating templates for categories and specific pages, see here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy

    Thanks for your reply Sir but I am little poor in English So, i didn’t understand your given link. I have create a page called archive.php now which code I need to put in archive.php and functions.php can you provide me..?
