   Wondering if anybody knows of a way to do this- either using a plugin or some other modification:

   Sites like Posterous allow you to create an unlisted post- only viewable if you have the direct url, but formatted like a blog post with a comment section, etc.

   Another example would be a Youtube video set as unlisted.

   In wordpress, the only options are private, password protected, and public.

   Is there any way to add this functionality to wordpress?

   I am also interested in a solution for this! It would make a great feature for future versions.

   What is the difference between a Private post and an Unlisted Post? Right now they seem like the same thing.

   @doc4:

   An unlisted post would be visible to another user who receives the exact URL.

   A private post is only visible after logging in, only for those who have an appropriate account, basically the author.
