How to create an index page for a specific category

    Hello everyone.
    I would like to create a static page displaying all subcategories (+100) from a specific category.
    These subcategories would be displayed as links to the subcat page.
    I must add that I am not very comfortable with code and have tried such plugins as Dagon sitemap, which doesn’t really do it or look good.
    Can anyone help me?
